DIY Valentine’s Day Card Tutorial:

Step 1. Prep the card base.

I started this DIY Valentine’s Day card by trimming a sheet of gray cardstock to be 5.5 x 8.5 and scoring it down the middle to make an A2 sized card base. Then I grabbed my Tie Dye patterned cardstock and trimmed it to be about 4 x 5 inches in size to create the card back. I then adhered it to the card base using some Scrapbook Adhesives mounting squares.

Step 2. Cut out the hanging garden design.

Once the card base was prepped, I placed the Altenew hanging garden die on some silver glitter cardstock and ran it through my Sizzix BIGkick machine a few times to cut it out. Some of the sections of the die didn’t fully cut, so I did have to work it a bit with my tweezers and my craft knife, but I really love how the leaves look here.

Step 3. Add the Sentiment.

Lastly, I created the sentiment by placing the “with all of my love” stamp from the Altenew Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set. I used black soot distress oxide ink from Ranger to stamp the words down, then I covered the sentiment with embossing powder. Once I had melted the powder to set it in place, I trimmed the sentiment down to size and adhered it on this Valentine’s Day card to finish it off!

I hope you found this DIY Valentine’s Day card. I’m loving Altenew right now, so check out this other project using their layering stamps! And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest for the latest updates! You can also shop all the handmade cards that I’ve designed here.
