Quick and Easy Card Making Ideas

Quick and Easy Card Making Ideas

by Robin

Looking for some quick and easy card making ideas?  Here are some good tips to consider:

1. Use a die-cutting machine.

Do you have a Cricut or Silhouette machine? If yes, these machines can be a great way to save time and energy. Choose a sentiment in the design studio and create a banner for your card! Here, you’ll see that I drew/cut the Happy Haunting words. Then I cut the banner to size using my Cricut Machine.

2. Use some patterned paper

Patterned paper is a quick and easy way to give a design a little extra personality quickly. I think we sometimes overlook this as an option. Especially when we see other card makers creating background patterns from scratch. It can be easy to think that using patterned paper is somehow less authentic. But try to look at it differently. Card making is an art form and, and art is subjective. Use the supplies that bring you joy and reduce stress, and you’ll find that you still love your design.

I didn’t hand-stitch the orange cardstock that you see on the base of this card. I bought it that way. But I’m still very happy with my design. You absolutely can make some background panels from scratch, but you are not required to make all of them from scratch.

3. Stickers!

Ok, so hear me out. We ALL have them. Whether we bought them when we were starting out, we received them as a gift, or they inspired us at some point. Stickers sometimes get a bad wrap, but it’s ok to use stickers on your card design! Remember the goal is some make something quick and easy that still brings joy! Stickers are a great way to accomplish this! I bought these pumpkin stickers years ago and put off using them because I didn’t know how I wanted to. But now that they’re on this card design and they look great!

When you’re making quick and easy cards, less is more, and using the supplies that are already at your disposal will save you time! Remember not to limit yourself just because you want to avoid certain supplies. The goal is speed and simplicity!
